Job Summary

This is a key role where you will be able to demonstrate your ability to lead a team and achieve project deliverables. You will have overall responsibility for providing project testing and support to the engineering team. Working closely with the project managers, you will manage all aspects of project testing ensuring compliance with all project deliverables and providing overall office and site based engineering support to the Rail Projects team.

Key Objectives

Responsible for the co-ordination of all project related test requirements with the design engineers and project managers to ensure correct delivery of all project deliverables. Responsible for the timely and accurate provision of all test documentation and test equipment required for the project delivery. Manage test team to deliver within project timeframes Production of client format method statements for test related activities Provide overall test support both on site and with our client representatives.

Requirements

  • Production of detailed requirement verification documentation to include test strategies, test and commissioning plans, test methodologies and equipment to be used
  • Production of business justifications for the procurement of test equipment
  • Responsible to ensure that all test equipment provided is calibrated and fit for purpose
  • To be responsible for the quality, accuracy and sign off of all test documentation prior to issue to the project manager or client
  • To be involved with regular design reviews to demonstrate design compliance with project requirements.
  • To produce regular reports to the project manager, including progress/plan on all testing deliverables, statement as to actual and forecast resource consumption
  • To attend regular project and client meetings to provide test support
  • To liaise with other key client and stakeholder team members to ensure management of key testing interfaces and ensure interdisciplinary checks, etc.
  • Proven experience in managing testing teams to meet demanding programme targets
  • You will be a natural leader and team player, with an exceptional ability to persuade and influence at all levels and the ability to make sound decisions
  • Experience in a role where quality assurance was a key responsibility in client deliverables.

Desirable Skills

  • IRSE membership or Chartered Engineer
  • IRSE Test Manager competence
  • Good Knowledge of Telecomm systems used in a Rail Environment
  • Working knowledge of HSE and CDM and Safety Critical Works Regulations, Network Rail group and line standards
  • Ability to pass medical and sponsored training
