Job Summary
Working as part of small, multi-skilled technical team, you will be responsible for undertaking all technical aspects of the preparation of telecommunications bid proposals, delivery of design packages and implementation of system designs for the Mainline and Light Rail markets.
Key Objectives
- Analysis of complex technical requirements into work packages and responsibility for delivering solutions to these packages.
- Ensure compliance with client contractual and telent procedures in the production of all engineering project deliverables
- Production of client format method statements for all design related trackside activities.
- Management of design site surveys (pre and post installation) and production of reports as required by the associated contract.
- Production of detailed requirement verification documentation, which will describe how telent will demonstrate compliance with the agreed requirements.
- Detailed materials ordering lists (for all materials) backed up with recommended supplier information, procurement specifications and quotations.
- Overall project design support both on site and with the nominated client representatives.
- Carry out regular design (recorded) reviews to demonstrate design compliance with project requirements
- Leading of Field and Office based Engineering resource in the delivery of work packages.
Results driven, you will be an excellent communicator; able to influence across all levels both internally and with your customer. You will have an exceptional mix of technical and management skills including the ability to analyse complex engineering problems and deliver robust technical solutions in a timely manner, along with the ability to self-manage multiple work packages, involving priority setting, conflict management and directing others.
Desirable Skills
- Membership of the IRSE or IET (formally IEE)
- Chartered Engineer
- Knowledge of mainline railway environment
- Knowledge of system design and service delivery in a safety related or high reliability customer environment (e.g. Railway, emergency services, chemical industry)
- A working knowledge of Network Rail Group and Company standards
- PTS is desirable
